Associate Director (Freelance) 

The Javaad Alipoor Company is looking for an experienced Associate Director to support On Tyranny, a major theatre and participation project bringing young people together to explore democracy, citizenship and contemporary social issues through performance.

Working with schools, colleges and youth organisations across Greater Manchester, you will provide artistic leadership, support rehearsals, deliver training and help shape the Festival of Democracy in March 2027.

We're looking for an experienced theatre-maker with a strong track record of working with young people and a passion for socially engaged theatre.

Fee: £10,000
Contract: Freelance
Period: September 2026 – April 2027
Location: Greater Manchester
