We're looking for a Stage Manager!

Stage Manager (Freelance) 

We're seeking an experienced Stage Manager to join us for an upcoming period of rehearsals and performances of America’s Kingdoms (WIP), presented as part of Shedinburgh Festival 2026, followed by a London engagement. 

We are looking for an organised, collaborative and proactive Stage Manager to support the company through rehearsals in Manchester and public sharings in Edinburgh and London. 

Dates 

Rehearsals 

- w/c 10 August 2026 – Manchester 
- w/c 17 August 2026 – Manchester 

Work-in-Progress Performances 

- w/c 24 August 2026 – Edinburgh, as part of Shedinburgh (weekend performances) 
- w/c 14 September 2026 – London, as part of Shedinburgh (weekend performances) 

About the Role 

The successful candidate will work closely with the creative team to support rehearsals, manage the production during performances, and help ensure the smooth running of the project across all locations. 

This is an opportunity to be part of the development of a new work by the award-winning The Javaad Alipoor Company, supporting the project from rehearsal room to public sharing. 

We're Looking For Someone Who: 

- Has professional stage management experience in theatre 
- Is confident supporting rehearsals and live performance 
- Has experience of, or is comfortable with basic technical operation (sound, video) 
- Has excellent organisational and communication skills
- Is calm, practical and proactive 
- Enjoys working as part of a small, collaborative team 
- Is based in the North West and/or able to travel to Manchester for rehearsals 

Fee & Expenses 
- £700 per week 
- Accommodation, travel and per diems will be provided for the Edinburgh and London performance dates
